The Immigrant Writer as Creator of Identity
To what extent do immigrant writers create/stabilize/challenge the identity
of their respective immigrant group? What factors influence their
involvement in the intercultural conversation between the host culture and
the immigrant community? What are their responses to the issue of split or
multiple identity? How does their choice of (writing) language support
their views?
Panel proposals should be no more than 500 words and submitted by October
15, 2007. Paper abstracts should be no more than 350 words and submitted
by October 15, 2007. Please include home and office numbers, complete
mailing address, e-mail address, professional affiliation, and AV
requirements with your submission.
