2008 CALL FOR PAPERS

February 8, 2008 Virginia Ball Center Ball State University

VISUALIZING THE (SUB)TEXT: A CRITICAL LOOK AT LANGUAGE & LITERATURE

The 2008 Ball State University PCM conference committee would like to
invite submissions of abstracts from all graduate programs in: composition
and rhetoric, linguistics, literature, TESOL, digital storytelling, and
creative writing.

The premise for Practical Criticism Midwest is to provide space for an
intellectual show-and-tell, a chance for students in the field of English
Studies to get involved with colleagues and practice presenting
professionally. PCM is a friendly forum for graduate students to present
papers to peers and faculty in the field.

This year's theme offers an exciting opportunity for presenters to discuss
ideas regarding generational differences including personalities, voices,
and alternative vocalities of generations past and present.

Abstracts should be between 200-500 words. Please include your name,
program, and a brief biography (100 words or less). Abstracts should be
pasted into the body of the email. No attachments please!

E-mail Submissions to: drdisarro_at_bsu.edu

irregular verse that is often humorous in nature. All submissions will be
read aloud at the close of the conference during the wine and cheese
reception at the Virginia Ball Center.
