Writing Race

The College English Association - Caribbean Chapter (CEA-CC) will hold
their 2008 Spring Conference in the University of Puerto Rico-Arecibo
(Puerto Rico) on the 29th of February and the 1st of March. The 2008
conference will address the general topic of race and writing. We invite
proposals for 20-minute papers on any aspect of the topic, from a
literary historical, critical, theoretical, interdisciplinary or other
perspective. The proposals are not limited to English language
literature.

European Cinema might be said to have two lives, the life of its notable
history and the life of its vibrant present.

ECRF 2008 highlights the relationship between past and present in European
Cinema with a CALL FOR PAPERS focusing on either, or both of these
manifestations of European film.

Papers: 20 minutes, plus 10 minutes for questions.

DEUS LOCI: THE LAWRENCE DURRELL JOURNAL invites submissions of original
scholarly articles on the life and work of Lawrence Durrell and his
circles, including Henry Miller, Anais Nin, Gerald Durrell, Richard
Aldington, George Seferis, Keith Douglas, Bernard Spencer, Olivia
Manning, etc. All critical approaches are welcome, including gender,
historical, textual, biographical, and source studies; as well as gender-
based, multicultural, ecocritical, and other post-structuralist methods.

        In addition, submissions of short fiction and poetry--in the
spirit of Durrell and/or the Mediterraneanâ€"are also invited.

Since 1988, THE MARJORIE KINNAN RAWLINGS JOURNAL OF FLORIDA LITERATURE
has published material relevant to the life, works, and friends of
Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of
THE YEARLING, and many other widely respected and beloved works,
including CROSS CREEK, SOUTH MOON UNDER, GOLDEN APPLES, and CRACKER
CHIDLINGS.
        
The co-editors of JFL, Brent E. Kinser and Anna Lillios, would like
to invite submissions of critical articles that focus not only on
Rawlings but also on issues that fit within the broader contexts of
Florida writing, regionalism, feminism, race, eco-criticism, literature
