EMERGING SCHOLARSHIP IN WOMEN’S AND GENDER STUDIES

Fifteenth Annual Graduate Student Gender Studies Conference
Thursday April 3rd, 2008 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Now in its fifteenth year, this conference provides an unparalleled
opportunity to share research with undergraduates, graduate students and
faculty in women’s and gender studies across campus. The center’s theme
this year is “Gender and Technology,” but research on any aspect of the
study of gender and/or sexuality is welcome.

Please note that presenting in the student conference is one of the
requirements of the Women’s and Gender Studies Portfolio Program.

Conference chair, Dr. Susan Sage Heinzelman, will evaluate the proposals
together with a student jury. Each panel will be chaired by a faculty
affiliate of the Women’s and Gender Studies Program. All participants must
be registered in an undergraduate or graduate program at The University of
Texas at Austin or other recognized university or college and must be
available to present their papers at any time during the day on Thursday
April 3rd 2008.

You may submit an abstract for either category:

                Individual paper (20 minute presentation)
Panel (no more than four papers)

Your abstract should be no more than 250 words. If you are proposing a
complete panel, please submit one abstract for the panel with a separate
abstract for each paper.

Registration fee (due upon acceptance): $10 undergraduates; $15 graduates
Make checks payable to The Center for Women’s and Gender Studies, UT Austin.
