Bloom’s Literary Themes

Chelsea House, a New York publisher of over 600 volumes of Harold Bloom literary criticism, is
seeking scholars to write 3000 to 4000-word essays for a series of volumes on literary themes.
The ideal author will have a Ph.D., broad knowledge of literature and specific knowledge of a
major work of literature, and an ability to write clearly and succinctly for students in both high
school and college. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines will be required. Currently, we are
seeking contributors for the following essays:

"The American Dream" in The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin
"Alienation" in Melville's "Bartleby the Scrivener"
“Alienation” in Salinger’s The Catcher in the Rye
“Alienation” in Huxley’s Brave New World
“The Labyrinth” in Yeats’ “The Second Coming”
