those technological bodies challenge and change our carefully mapped world. This panel will seek
to address the theories, narratives, and cultural stakes involved in these representations. What are
defined as “technological bodies How do different films define the technological body differently?
To what extent are all bodies represented as technological? How are notions of progress and/or
stasis negotiated through representations of technological bodies? How do specific genre
formulate technological bodies? Papers which discuss a specific film, filmmaker, type of
technological body (i.e. android, train, computer, prosthetic human parts, etc.) are also welcome.
Abstracts should be 250-300 words and sent to maggiegover_at_mac.com by February 15, 2008.
