CFP: Detective Fiction (6/15/08: MAPACA 10/31/08-11/01/08)

EAPSU ONLINE, a peer-reviewed journal published by the English
Association of Pennsylvania State Universities, is accepting submissions
for critical or creative works in any area of English studies. Articles
on pedagogy are also welcome.

Work should not have been published anywhere else, and should be sent as
a Word attachment (MLA in-text documentation). Do not include name on
the manuscript; instead send a separate file with title, personal contact
information, affiliation, and brief bio blurb, as well as a short
(several sentence) abstract or description of your work.

Deadline for fall 2008 issue is extended to June 15. Kim Martin Long,

The next conference of the British Society for Literature and Science will be held at the University of
Reading from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 March, 2009.

Keynote speakers will include Dame Gillian Beer (King Edward VII Professor Emerita at Cambridge
University), Patrick Parrinder (Professor of English Literature at Reading University), and Simon
Conway Morris (Professor of Evolutionary Palaeobiology at Cambridge University).

The formal call for papers will be announced this autumn. If you have any preliminary enquiries

The College English Association Caribbean Chapter has put together a
volume of essays based on the theme of its Spring 2007 conference, "Of
Mice and Men: Animals in Human Signification." To round out the
collection, we are seeking an additional two papers that address the topic
of human representation of animals in literature, art and the media (as
well as in other channels and modes of human representation) specifically
in Eastern and/or African cultures.
Papers should be between 3000 and 10,000 words (excluding Works Cited),
use the font Times Roman 12 cpi, follow MLA format, and be sent to
