Abstracts of papers are invited for presentation at the international
conference "Perspectives on National Identity, Ethnicity, and Migration"
held at the Center for the Humanities and Social Sciences, National Sun
Yat-sen University, Kaoshiung City, Taiwan, 7-9 November 2008. People in
different periods of time have their visions of home and space.
Formations of nationhood and national identity remain a relevant issue in
today's worlds including matters of language and belief systems. The
conference welcomes contributions related to topics including boundaries,
borderlands, and national identity; popular culture and national
identity; national identity and its expressions in literature; diaspora
