30th Annual Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico
February 25-28, 2009

The 2009 SW/TX PCA/ACA Conference will be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico
at the Hyatt Regency downtown. Join us this year, as a returning or first-
time participant, as we celebrate a new future on Route 66 at this
regional popular culture conference. Further details regarding the
conference (listing of all areas, hotel, registration, tours, etc.) can
be found at

Proposals are now being accepted for the Philosophy and Popular Culture
Area. Listed below are some suggestions for possible presentations, but
topics not included here are also welcome.

• Theories of popular culture
• Elements of popular culture analysis
• Issues of identity and popular culture
• Conceptual entities of identity and popular culture
• Issues of race, ethnicity, class, gender, sexuality, cultural
imperialism and censorship and popular culture
• Philosophical issues explored in popular culture
• Views of philosophy in popular culture
• Philosophical frameworks engaged in popular culture (e.g.
Cartesian mind-body dualism in the Matrix Trilogy)
• Epistemology and Popular Culture
• Phenomenology and Popular Culture
