attention from academia all over the world with their production,
dissemination and reception being considered as valid and as major forms

The 2009 Conference on John Milton: October 15-17, 2009.
Sponsored by the Department of English, Middle Tennessee State University,
Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Papers (not to exceed 20 minutes reading time) are invited on any aspect of
Milton Studies, from close readings of particular works to broader
investigations of themes and trends.

Featured speakers on the program include Achsah Guibbory (Barnard College)
and William Shullenberger (Sarah Lawrence College)

The International Anthony Burgess Foundation invites proposals for papers
for its 3rd Symposium which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from
27th-30th July, 2009. The theme of the conference is Conflict, Dialogue and
Resolution, a theme which can be explored in any aspect of Burgess’s work
in Literature, Music, Drama, Film and Theory or Journalism. The proposals
should be for papers between 20-30 minutes when they are delivered. The
papers may focus upon the postcolonial aspects of Burgess’s work, but this
is not a requirement. Papers are welcomed on any aspect of Burgess’s work
which is relevant to the theme.

Proposals are being accepted for the Collecting, Collectibles,
Collectors, Collections Area. All proposals are welcome. We are
especially interested in papers that address the following areas:

*literary works that take up the museum as a theme

* the intersections between literary/filmic/photographic techniques of
exhibition and curation and those of museums

* the intersections between professional and popular archival forms as
expressed through any medium
