This symposium invites reconsideration of modernity, modernism and
postmodernism from literary, cultural and a wide range of
interdisciplinary aspects, aiming to broaden the current debates.

Panel proposals chaired by colleagues from different universities are
especially welcome, along with individual papers, roundtables, workshops
and performances either in English or Turkish. Please note that there
will be no translations during the symposium.

Topics might include but are not limited to:

Virginia Tech's Department of English welcomes the submission of abstracts
for the annual graduate student conference “With Pen in Hand” taking place
February 20-21, 2009. This year's topic is "Place and Identity in 21st

Milton, a special session at the annual meeting of the Rocky Mountain
Modern Language Association, October 8-10, 2007, Snow Bird, Utah (resort
near Salt Lake City; details can be found at www.rmmla.org). Papers on
any aspect of Milton are welcome. Email 1/2 page to 2 page proposals, for
15-20 minute presentations, by March 1, 2009 to daniel_at_panam.edu and
clayldaniel_at_sbcglobal.net
