Keynote speaker: Professor Robert Eaglestone (Royal Holloway)

We welcome contributions from a range of disciplines, including literature, film, history and philosophy. The scope of the conference will be broad, but some areas of interest might include:

•experimental and allegorical representations of the Holocaust (from Georges Perec's W, or the Memory of Childhood to J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series)
•second-generation Holocaust representation (from Art Spiegelman to Lily Brett to Anne Michaels)
•Holocaust literature by/for/about children
•postmodernism and Holocaust representation
•representing the perpetrators (from Martin Amis' Time's Arrow to Bernhard Schlink's The Reader to Jonathan Littell's The Kindly Ones)
•'appropriate' representations the Holocaust (from The Sex Pistols to Roberto Benigni's Life is Beautiful)
•'hoax' Holocaust 'memoirs'
•museums and memorials

Please send abstracts or enquiries to the conference convenor, Dr Francesca Haig, f.haig@chester.ac.uk. Abstracts should be 300-words max., for 20-minute papers.
