The theme of this year's issue is Consuming Cultures. We are accepting submissions of articles, essays, creative work, reviews, and art that explore the ideologies, politics, and cultures of consumption fairly broadly. The deadline for submissions is June 15, 2009. Questions and submissions can be sent to disclosurejournal@gmail.com.
On February 20th 2009 we are pleased to announce a Call for Papers to be included in the first issue of our magazine 452ºF.
This is the first call of our magazine, open to everyone holding a degree and willing to take part in our recently launched project.
The procedure for the reception and publishing, always subject to the regulation that can be found in the "Evaluation and Peer Review system", "Style-sheet" and "Legal notice" sections, is the following:
- Deadline for paper submission (full text): April 23rd 2009, and those received afterwards will not be taken into consideration.
- Originals should be submitted to the following email address: revista@452f.com
The regional meeting of the Conference on Christianity and Literature will explore a wide variety of approaches to the intersections between Christianity, literature, and the city. This three-day conference, held just west of Chicago at Wheaton College (IL) will include keynote addresses by Andrew Delbanco and Anne Winters, traditional panels, at least two undergraduate student panels with faculty moderators, poetry readings, art exhibitions, and associated excursions into Chicago. Proposals for panels, roundtables, or individual twenty-minute presentations are invited on the following or related topics:
The Gender, Identity, Sex and Sexuality Area Chair of the Northeast Popular/American Culture Association (NEPCA) seeks individual-paper proposals for presentation at NEPCA's annual fall conference, which will be held on the campus of Queensborough Community College (Bayside, Queens, New York City) October 23-24, 2009.

Although the study of periodical culture is the focus of increasing scholarly interest, the important literary and historical role played by periodicals before the Victorian period has so far been underexamined. This conference will bring together work in this area with the general aim of interrogating conventional periodizations of British cultural life from 1700 to 1840, and in particular of investigating whether the study of periodical culture lends support to the proposed alternative of a "Romantic Century".

Currents in Teaching and Learning
Volume 2, Number 1, Fall 2009
Currents invites submissions for its Fall 2009 issue, including:
—Short reports from different disciplines on classroom practices (2850-5700 words). We welcome both individual and group submissions. A group submission would present a forum consisting of two to four reports from different academic disciplines, with each report discussing a different approach to a particular pedagogical challenge.
—Longer research, theoretical, or conceptual articles, and explorations of issues and challenges facing teachers today (5700-7125 words).
—Announcements of work-in-progress and requests for collaborators.
—Book and website reviews.

Translating the Middle Ages.

'Medievalism Transformed' is an interdisciplinary postgraduate conference for researchers in a variety of disciplines. The one-day event, which is supported by the Centre for Medieval Studies, will be held at Bangor University on the 20th of June. The theme for this year's conference will be Translating the Middle Ages: we will be convening to explore the practice of translating in the Middle Ages, but also to discuss the various ways in which medieval culture has been translated or adapted to the modern era. Topics within the general scope of the conference will be considered, including (but not limited to):

Victorian Network is a new online journal dedicated to publishing and promoting the best postgraduate work in Victorian Studies. We are extending the deadline for submissions until 1st May 2009.
The journal is guest edited by established scholars in the field and peer-reviewed by other doctoral students. Two types of submissions are now accepted for the first issue. We are seeking essays of no longer than 7000 words which engage with the topic of the first issue, "The British Empire and Victorian Literature and Culture".
