The programme will include presentations, performances, video showings, a small exhibition space and a gallery in Second Life. The event will take place in InQbate, a state-of-the-art technological presentation venue on the University of Sussex campus.

The Harry Potter area of the Midwest Popular Culture Association/Midwest American Culture Association invites panel and paper proposals for its annual conference. The conference will run from October 1-3, 2010 at the Bloomington Sheraton Hotel in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Proposals and abstracts of about 250-300 words on any aspect of Harry Potter are welcome, although topics focusing on pedagogical issues are of particular interest.

Please submit proposals and abstracts to the area chair. Electronic submissions should be sent to Orlando Dos Reis, Virginia Tech at odosreisHP@gmail.com. Deadline for submissions is April 30, 2010.

South Atlantic Modern Language Association Conference

Any subject matter connected to mothers in literature of women of color will be considered such as othermothers, community mothers, mothers in war, mother from different social-economic backgrounds, etc. I encourage papers and research on literature of African-American, Chicana, Latina, Native American, and all other women of color.
Send 250-300 word abstracts to Adriane Niedorf-Pierson at oxn847@my.utsa.edu. The deadline for abstracts is May 14 by 5 p.m. Acceptance notifications will be sent out via e-mail by midnight on May 17. The conference is Nov. 5-7, 2010 in Atlanta, GA.

The Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association (PAMLA) is hosting its 108th Annual Conference, on Saturday and Sunday, November 13-14, 2010, at Chaminade University, Honolulu, Hawaii.
The Pacific Ancient Modern Language Association is looking for paper proposals for the Children's Literature Panel for the 2010 Conference. Proposals may address the theme for the conference, "Picturing Oceania and the Pacific," in relation to Children's Literature. We will be accepting proposals concerning general Children's Literature as well.

Please submit a 250 word summary of the proposed conference paper and a short abstract of 50 words with the paper title that would introduce the significance of your paper for the conference program.
