The 2012 volume will focus on "Shakespeare and Performance." We are interested in articles that consider any aspect of performance in historical or contemporary productions of Shakespeare and his contemporary playwrights. The following list is of possible topics, but should not be considered exhaustive:

Seeking papers for a proposed panel at the Society for the Study of American Women Writers (SSAWW) Triennial Conference at the Westin Tabor Center in Denver, CO, October 10-13, 2012 on the theme "Women Writing the Prison: Incarceration, Citizenship, Belonging"
For the June 2012 issue of Modern Horizons we invite essays that explore the various philosophical, literary, artistic, and political expressions of place and particularity which have led to and are part of our time.
Place and particularity may be emphasised practically or addressed theoretically; in both cases, the importance of our own time, space, and experiences, and how these relate to what is different or other, is evident. Whether considering buying and growing food locally, participating in community activism, or working to sustain the diminishing realities of neighbourhoods, the urge to encourage and realise place and particularity is prevalent in our societies.
In/coherence: expression, translation, violence
Cultural Social and Political Thought Workshop
University of Victoria: April 21-22, 2012
The Cultural, Social, and Political Thought program at the University of Victoria is pleased to announce a call for papers and projects for our annual graduate conference on April 21-22, 2012. The title of this year's conference is in/coherence: expression, translation, violence. Thematic workshops will feature keynote speakers and student submissions (papers, performances, art pieces). This interdisciplinary conference seeks to engage in/coherence in social, cultural and political discourses, especially with respect to contemporary events.
The Departments of Anglo-American Philology I and II (Linguistics and Literature) wish to announce their 10th International Conference on Women's Studies, and invite you to submit papers on the topics listed below. The Organizing Committee for this conference, featuring national and international speakers, will publish texts selected after peer review for the Women's Studies collection, Vol. VIII.

For all undergraduate students in the social sciences, humanities, and fine arts, working in one or more of the KIAS Research Themes (Stewardship of the Planet, Place, Belonging, and Otherness, and Culture, Media, Technology), students must submit a 300-word abstract, along with the application form and confirmation of enrollment from their institution. The conference is international and interdisciplinary, with travel and accommodation grants available on a competitive bases. Women and Media: Representations Past and Present
An interdisciplinary postgraduate conference

This two-day interdisciplinary conference seeks to examine the multi-faceted nature of women's relationship with the media. Encompassing the press, art, advertising and literature alongside a progressive shift towards more modern
forms such as social networking and blogging, this conference will look at the media's categorization and censorship of women through culture and the law, issues of prostitution, abortion, illegitimacy, rape and asylums as well as challenges to heteronormativity.

Proteus: A Journal of Ideas seeks submissions for our upcoming issue, "Representing the Body in Culture and Society." We are soliciting articles and creative works from a wide range of disciplines that reflect upon the issue's theme. We are particularly interested in work that focuses on the body from a Disability Studies perspective, though submissions from all disciplines are welcome. We are looking for broad theoretical inquiries, individual case studies, and traditional scholarly articles on the subject of the body, as well as theme-related photographs, poetry, and creative writing.
Full Essays Due by January 15, 2012. Submit them electronically (MS Word preferred) to proteus@ship.edu.
