The "Authorship and Auteurism" area of the Midwest Popular Culture Association/Midwest American Culture Association is now accepting proposals for its upcoming conference. The MPCA/MACA conference will be held Friday-Sunday, October 12-14, 2012 at the Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel in Columbus, OH.

This panel seeks papers that analyze any aspect of auteur theory or authorship studies. Potential topics relevant to authorship may include:

-New media and technology
-Authorship in the age of postmodernity and globalization
-Auterism after the "death of the author"
-Authorship and auteurism as historical, geographical, and/or cultural practices
-Class and economics
-Race and ethnicity
-Gender and sexuality
-Narrative and genre
-Aesthetics and style
