CFP: Spring 2013 theme issue: Purple

MP: An Online Feminist Journal invites submissions for its Spring 2013
theme issue. While previous theme issues have centered on feminist
inquiries into family and children, the body, and transgender issues,
for this theme issue we are looking to try something a little
different.

The theme for the Spring 2013 issue is feminist explorations of
purple, broadly defined. Purple includes the shades of purple, ranging
from lavender to plum. Submissions might address the symbolic,
cultural, historical, rhetorical, or other significances of purple and
its related hues. They might address Alice Walker's The Color Purple,
Deep Purple, purple haze, or the Lavender Menace. They might address
purple and style. In all, the subject of inquiry remains wide open, so
long as it addresses feminist and women's issues along with purple in
some way.

We welcome both academic and creative submissions for this issue. For
submission guidelines, see
http://academinist.org/contribute/submission-guidelines. For best
consideration for this theme issue, please submit your materials by
midnight, January 10, 2013, to submissions@academinist.org.
Submissions outside this theme also are welcome. For questions,
contact us through submissions@academinist.org.
