The Don DeLillo Society will sponsor one session at the American Literature Association (ALA) conference in Boston, May 23-26, 2013.

The English Departments of the Grant, Ammerman, and Eastern campuses at Suffolk County Community College on Long Island will be holding the Sixth Annual Creative Writing Festival from Monday, April 22-Saturday, April 27.

The Festival brings together students, poets, novelists, short story writers, dramatists, essayists, and creative writing professors for an engaging week of workshops, panel discussions, readings, and related events, culminating in an all-day Conference on Saturday.

To this end, the SCCC Creative Writing Festival Committee seeks proposals from interested writers, faculty, and graduate students of the following nature:

Modern Language Studies, the journal of the Northeast Modern Language Association, is seeking reviews for the winter 2012 issue.

I am especially interested in reviews of primary sources (including scholarly editions, contemporary literature, art, film, comic books, visual and popular culture), pedagogical works, and hypertext publications. However, reviews are no longer restricted to these categories.

Graduate students are welcome to contribute to the journal. Please submit your review electronically (as a Word attachment) to Randy Robertson, Reviews Editor of MLS, at robertson@susqu.edu.

With its turn away from religion and towards secular, Western culture, modernity upended many of the boundaries that have traditionally organized Jewish life, confounding private and public, home and study house, feminine and masculine. Modern Jewish writers contended with gender identities as these were implicated in a reordered social and cultural world and in the changing roles and expectations for Jewish women. Literature continually (re)constructed female subjectivities and at the same time has been constructed by them, making women as writers, subjects, and objects of representation central to the project of Jewish modernity.

The Australasian Journal of Popular Culture is seeking submissions of articles for an "all-pulp" issue. This issue will be co-edited by the journal's editor, Toni-Johnson Woods, and Justin Everett, area chair for Pulp Studies for the Popular Culture Association.

Our aim is to produce a truly international publication, and so we encourage articles that explore pulp in every nation! We are not limiting "pulp" to the American magazine tradition, but wish to include the pulp traditions of countries outside the U.S. which may include paperbacks, comics, and other forms as appropriate to that country's tradition. Please include as many images as is appropriate to your article.
