Raising questions about what it means to "live" in a state of 'always
already after' begins to unravel new understandings of violence and life, especially relative to how communities and identities are formed and sustained. How can a dialogue between post-human and post-colonial studies expose the tensions embedded in being "post-"?

This panel seeks papers that address questions of life, community, and identity in the contemporary context of the "post-". We are interested in work that pays attention to the boundaries established and sustained in "post-" rhetorics. We are especially interested in work that engages post-humanist and post-colonial rhetorics toward opening dialogues among communities and making those communities more flexible.
