Call For Papers - Puppetry and Science, A Special Issue of Puppet Notebook

We are currently accepting articles for the next issue of Puppet Notebook. The Winter 2013 issue will be on the theme of 'Puppetry and Science' and will be edited by Shaun May.

Articles are invited on any topic around this general theme, with science defined very broadly to encompass a wide range of disciplines (e.g. Neuroscience, Physiology, Physics, Astronomy, Computer Science, Robotics and Mathematics). Possible perspectives include (but are not limited to) scientific paradigms for understanding puppetry, collaborations between scientists and puppeteers, and puppetry in plays about science.

Additionally we invite reviews of recent productions and books dealing with puppetry more broadly.

Submission guidelines: 2,000 words for articles and essays, 500 – 1,000 words for production and book reviews.
This magazine has a broad readership which includes academics, puppeteers, students and puppetry enthusiasts. As such we ask that contributions are intelligent yet accessible.

To discuss proposals informally please contact Shaun May on puppetnotebook@unima.org.uk or shaunmay@me.com. The deadline for completed articles will be 15th August 2013.
