[UPDATE] South Asian Partition Fiction: Trauma, Memory and Narrative; Abstract submission deadline extended: 30 December 2014

Dear all,

It is my pleasure to announce that we are editing a book entitled South Asian Partition Fiction: Trauma, Memory and Narrative. The book will be published with an ISBN and hopefully from a reputed publishing house. We are asking for articles that explore the following themes:

a. Partition trauma and fictional representation
b. The crisis of representation/Capturing the unrepresentable
c. Post-memory and fiction
d. Narrative technique (Realistic, postmodernist, etc.)
e. Autobiographical fiction
f. Bildungsroman
g. The genre of trauma fiction
h. Movie adaptations of partition fictions

These themes are expected to be explored with reference to the following novels:

a. Train to Pakistan
b. Ice-Candy-Man
c. Midnight's Children
d. Clear Light of Day
e. The Shadow Lines

The tentative publication date is May 2015. Contributors are instructed to submit abstracts of their articles by 20 December 2014. If accepted, the articles are to be sent by 30 February 2015. Then, each article will go through two rounds of editing: i. Idea inclusion and modification; ii. Linguistic correction, improvement and formatting. Contributors are asked to follow the 7th edition of MLA Style Guide.
