War Film Anthology--CFP for Edited Essay Collection (already under contract with major press), 15 Jan 15

full name / name of organization:
Dr. Douglas Cunningham, Westminster College

We are in the final stages of assembling and editing a collection of previously unpublished essays on the war film. This anthology is already under contract with a major press. The collection needs two or three more high-quality essays (between 7,000 and 10,000 words each). We are open to any war film topic, but we would especially welcome essays on recent American productions such as LONE SURVIVOR, ACT OF VALOR, AMERICAN SNIPER, WAR HORSE, CAMP X-RAY, or cross influences between war films and video games like CALL OF DUTY. We would also welcome essays on cinematic representations of World War I (e.g., THE BIG PARADE, WINGS, etc.). Finally, we would also welcome essays on genre theory as it relates to the war film. Queries are welcome and encouraged.Send queries and/or manuscripts to dcunningham@westminstercollege.edu by 15 Jan 15. Close deadline is short but necessary. Manuscripts should be in the Chicago style. Deadline: 15 Jan 15.
