Studies in the Novel is seeking submissions for a new section of its website dedicated to teaching the eighteenth-century novel, with an emphasis on innovative pedagogy and student involvement. See https://studiesinthenovel.org/interact/teaching-tools.html for sample submissions and complete guidelines for submitting "Teaching Tools."

Submissions may include sample course syllabi, assignments, resource materials, and/or short (500 word) reflections on teaching. All topics relevant to specific teaching experiences are welcome, but these perennial issues are offered as general food for thought:
--Assigning long novels to undergraduates
--Teaching genre fiction (the sentimental novel, the gothic novel, etc.) in a survey course
--Teaching a single-author graduate seminar
--Using digital/online resources for teaching the 18C novel
--How much historical background or other preparatory information do students need? How much is too much?
--Joys/Stresses/Concerns/Triumphs of teaching [insert your favorite novelist here]
--Useful preparations for teaching [insert your favorite novelist here]

Please send submissions, proposals, or ideas for site content to jsodano@albany.edu (subject line: Submission 18C Teaching Tools), the editorial process is one of rolling submissions throughout the year.
