Rediviva: Reception of Classical Texts
This panel proposal for the 2016 annual CAMWS meeting (to be held in Williamsburg, Virginia March 16-19) is seeking papers on a variety of topics involving original research or creative treatment of texts from the following disciplines: religious studies, rhetoric, literature, history, art history, lexicography, translation, and theater. Topics should be composed within or inspired by the classical tradition. Papers treating works composed in Latin or Greek are especially welcome. Individual presentations will last no more than 20 minutes, with time for discussion between papers.
Abstracts of no more than 800 words (including all citations) from faculty, independent researchers, and graduate students may be submitted on the symposium website to Patrick M. Owens at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than August 16, 2015. Notification of acceptance to the panel will be sent by August 20, 2015. Abstracts should follow the guidelines for the preparation of individual abstracts to be found on the CAMWS website (https://camws.org). All submissions will be subject to double-blind review by two referees and the panel as a whole evaluated by the CAMWS Program Committee before notification of final acceptance.
