CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Issue 5.2, Spring 2016
Theme: Crisis & Transformation Initial abstracts due Friday, April 15, 2016 Full submissions due Wednesday, May 4, 2016
The editors of SPECTRA: the ASPECT Journal invite scholarly work in all areas of social, political, ethical and cultural thought for the Spring 2016 issue. We particularly encourage submissions engaging the theme of crisis and transformation, broadly defined. Graduate students, independent scholars, and nonaffiliated researchers are particularly encouraged, regardless of disciplinary affiliation, to submit abstracts of approximately 300 words based on papers that engage topics of crisis and transformation. We welcome works engaging with marginalized perspectives and methodologies.
Artistic Call for Submissions:
We are also, for the first time, explicitly seeking to integrate an original, critical artistic work pertaining to social, political, ethical and cultural thought into the Spring 2016 issue. We are looking to foster productive conversation between scholars and artists through showcasing research, exploring controversial topics, and taking intellectual risks. Initial project descriptions should include samples as well as a brief statement (~300 words) speaking to how the submission would engage the theme of crisis and transformation.
Submissions may include digitalized paintings, photographs, collages, podcasts, poems, short stories, internethosted texts, comics, videos, and other media with which to broadly engage topics of crisis and transformation.
