PAMLA 2016: Terrorism, Immigration and the Non-West (abstract due 6/10/16; conference 11-13 Nov. 2016)
The West is caught in an intractable ideological struggle with ISIS and the Non-West where the stake is liberal consensus and hegemony. With reference to literary and theoretical texts, and visual culture, this panel explores the rise of ISIS and the failure of Western Liberalism as a new feature of postmodern culture and politics.
