Description:
An exploration of translators, translation, and other translational circumstances that further an understanding of the literary relationships between Spain and the United States. Papers may address any of the languages spoken within Spain and the United States and focus on the translation history of specific texts, literary translators, travel, and any other moments that benefit from the lens of translation in a broad sense. Overall, this panel will highlight the backstories of some of the most critically discussed writers and texts as well as the lesser-known instances of artistic production, collaboration, and circulation.
