The Women’s Studies Collective (WSC) at The University of West Florida invites regional artists to submit work to our 2016 exhibition Feminist Iconography III.We are asking that artists submit pieces for consideration that adhere to the theme of feminist iconography. This theme encompasses works that are expressive of women’s experiences, that offer perspectives of feminism and the feminist movements, and that challenge social and political landscapes.

These pieces may adopt a variety of traditional and non-traditional genres (abstract, processual, representational, realist etc.) and media including painting, printmaking, drawing, fabric, sculpture, video, photography, etc. Artists are encouraged to experiment with form and style as they cultivate their own feminist-minded works. All exhibited artists and artwork will be featured on the WSC’s social media platforms.

Entrants are limited to four submissions and are required to send JPEG images via email to Feministiconographyexhibition@gmail.com. The subject line of the email should read “Submission for Feminist Iconography Exhibition.” Please include the title, size, and medium of the work as well as a short statement about the work. Electronic submissions are due no later than October 21st. Entrants whose submissions are selected for exhibition will be notified by email on or by October 24th.
