Humanities Now! Doing and Undoing the Humanities in the Time of Trump

Call for Contributions #1

Humanities Now! invites contributions that reflect on the day-of, on-the-ground experiences you had in the classroom on, or shortly after, November 9, 2016.

Please send anecdotes, lesson plans, reading lists, narratives, questions, etc. We hope, as a start, this will serve as a document and a resource, as a public archive and a work in progress.

Send submissions to by November 30, 2016.

Humanities Now! welcomes submissions that help us rethink how to do humanities in light of the contemporary political moment. We construe the humanities broadly, and encourage submissions from scholars inside and outside of academia, students, activists, librarians, curators, artists-in-residence, academic support staff, and any others in solidarity with our questions and causes.

We are particularly interested in the experimental, the radical, the speculative. And in reflections on how teaching, research, and humanistic practice can help to dismantle oppression and imagine new ways of living together.

This is a workshop and an open conversation. We’re just getting started and hope you will help us shape what’s yet to come.
