TWO-DAY NATIONAL CONFERENCE

January 06 and 07, 2017

ON

“PEN, PAIN AND WRITING: (RE)THINKING LINKS, CONNECTIVES AND NEGOTIATIONS”

Organized by:

Department of English, Salesian College, Siliguri Campus

Papers are invited to discuss issues (though not exhaustively) related to:

  • conceptualizing pain in psychoanalysis
  • writing the body in/and feminisms, queer theory and masculinity studies
  • magic, fantasy and children’s literature
  • digital age and the changing role of pen
  • (re)conceptualizing history and writing the past
  • pen and the politics of the ‘social’ and everyday life
  • writing, textuality, representation and experience

Presenters who feel that they can contribute with their ideas in this conference may submit an abstract of approximately 300 words by December 01, 2016. The conference will be held on 6th and 7th January, 2017 at Salesian College, Siliguri Campus. The final papers will have to be submitted by December 30, 2016. There is limited amount of financial support (for travel allowance) for some selected papers whose presenters will be coming from outside of North Bengal. Abstracts of 300 words mentioning key terms and followed by a brief Bio note (in 50 words) may be submitted at salesianconference@gmail.com and principal@salesiancollege.net. Abstracts should be in 12 point size, font Times New Roman and no use of footnotes is allowed in the Abstracts.
