Caribbean Literature and Film: Global Visions

This standing session invites proposals concerning any aspect of Caribbean Literature or Film. Topics that creatively engage the conference theme of "The Sense of Sight: Visuality, Visibility, and Ways of Seeing" as well as topics exploring interdisciplinary and transnational approaches to the study of Caribbean Literature and Film are especially welcome. Paper topics could include, but are not limited to: Caribbean diasporas, representations of race and gender in Caribbean film, narrating the nation, the afterlife of colonization, and new approaches to historicizing the Caribbean.
