Special Issue on Percival Everett
African American Review is seeking submissions for a special issue devoted to the work of Percival Everett and coedited by Anthony Stewart and Joe Weixlmann. Because of the eclectic nature of Everett’s output (novels, short stories, poetry, visual art), the potential scope of the issue will be determined by the submissions themselves, but possibilities might include:
- the interplay between Everett’s fiction and his poetry
- Everett’s fiction, poetry, and painting
- the role of the Western in Everett’s writing
- Everett’s early work
- the relationships between Everett’s work and that of other novelists, poets, and/or painters
Submissions must be 6000-8500 words in length, exclusive of Notes and Works Cited. Please consult http://aar.slu.edu/submissions.html for the journal’s general submission guidelines. The deadline for submission is March 1, 2018, and articles may be sent to either Anthony Stewart (email@example.com) or Joe Weixlmann (firstname.lastname@example.org).
