Caesura—Journal of Philological and Humanistic Studies

Special Issue: “The Experience of Literature”

Guest Editor: Peter Mathews (Hanyang University)

Caesura is putting together a special issue on the topic of “the experience of literature.”

This special issue considers the way in which literature is experienced, whether by readers, authors, or characters, in fiction or in theory. Often, encountering literature is portrayed as a life-changing moment or turning-point, but this is not necessarily the case – indeed, essays exploring the resistance to literature’s effects, or even a total lack of receptivity to it, are especially welcome.
