DISCOVERIES is the peer-reviewed online academic newletter of the South Central Renaissance Conference, an interdisciplinary association of Renaissance scholars with membership drawn primarily from North America and Europe.  DISCOVERIES publishes original scholarship of up to 3000 words in length and book reviews on subjects of interest to the membership.

DISCOVERIES celebrates the launch of its revised, codified and indexed format with a Special Topic issue dedicated to the theme of  “the Seen and the Unseen”:

The Department of Jewish Thought at Bar Ilan University will host the 2nd Annual Conference of the IASR. This year's conference will focus on Sacred Scriptures – Their Nature and Their Place in Religions, and will take place during 11-12 March 2018.

South Texas College’s publication Interstice is looking for Hispanic and Latino book reviews to incorporate in their upcoming 14th volume. Submissions are accepted by January 15, 2018. 

The review must adhere to the following criteria.

International Conference on Interrogating Disability Studies: Literature, Culture, Performance

Though the roots of neglect and discrimination against persons with disabilities can be historically traced, the voices of this critical segment of society have largely remained unproblemitized in academic discourses. The traditional medical and welfare-based approaches have often overlooked the significant impact of disability on the socio-cultural and psychological lives of persons with disabilities both as individuals and groups. Further, till recently, most academic discussions relating to disability paradigms have tended to revolve around legal provisions, support systems etc.

The Texas Center for Working-Class Studies, housed at Collin College, a two-year institution serving Collin County, is pleased to announce a one-day Working-Class Studies conference for interested scholars and students. The conference will take place on Thursday, March 22, 2018, and will consist of panels in a range of disciplines and on a variety of issues related to social class and labor issues, both historical and contemporary.
