The Arthur Miller Society plans to have two panels at the American Literature Association convention in May 2018. Each 75-minute session will contain three 15-minute papers (roughly 2000-2500 words) and an open, half-hour discussion period with the panel’s audience. Both panels are open to papers on the broad topic of current approaches to the works and life of Arthur Miller.

Suitable topics for these papers include but are not limited to the following:

• Analyses of individual plays or sets of plays by Miller

• Differing interpretations of Miller’s works as they are approached from various analytical perspectives

• Reviews of specific productions of Miller’s plays and the insights these particular interpretations provide

• Discussion of Miller’s essays: his views on theatre or on American society

• Discussions of Miller’s short stories and poems

• Comments on Miller’s political views and his role as a public intellectual
