The MHK Society invites prospective participants to submit proposals relating to any aspect of Kingston’s life and work. The topic is open. Especially welcome are papers exploring Kingston’s work across genres. How are her thematic and political commitments inflected by artistic choices involving prose, poetry, theatricality, and the cinematic imagination? What is the importance of space and place in her work--San Francisco, Stockton, Berkeley, Honolulu, New York, the Sierra Mountains? Please email abstracts of 2-300 words to John Whalen-Bridge at jwb@nus.edu.sg no later than January 13, 2018. Each submission should also include a brief biographical note, including your name as it will appear in the program, institutional affiliation, and preferred modes of contact during the early weeks of January 2018.
