CALL FOR PAPERS
I am looking for papers for multiple panels for the PCA Area Motherhood/Fatherhood on any aspect of motherhood and/or fatherhood in popular culture. Scholars, educators, artists, filmmakers and others are encouraged to submit your work for consideration. You can submit an individual paper for a panel, or you can submit papers as a group to create a special panel on a particular topic of interest. Panels are each an hour and a half long, usually with four papers per panel. Presentations should be about 15 minutes long, to ensure time for discussion at the end of the session.
Possible topics to consider include, but are not limited to, the following:
- TV shows, including talk shows, family dramas, sitcoms, and animation
- print and electronic journalism, including magazines and gossip rags
- film (documentary and narrative)
- music
- politics, including the impact of the Trump presidency on motherhood and fatherhood
