Criterion: A Journal of Literary Criticism
Criterion: A Journal of Literary Criticism seeks original, well-researched, and intellectually rigorous essays written from diverse critical perspectives and about texts from any time period or literary tradition. Submissions are peer-reviewed by a selection board at BYU, and final decisions are made by the journal's two Editors-in-Chief in consultation with a faculty advisor. We have recently published our Winter 2018 issue. We will begin accepting submissions for our Winter 2019 issue in early November 2018.
Submissions to both the general section and the Forum should be between 3000 and 6000 words (not including the bibliography). All submissions should be double-spaced, written in English, and formatted according to the most recent MLA guidelines. Submissions should be uploaded as MS Word files through our website and online submission system.
We are currently accepting submissions. Any submissions between now and January 2019 will be considered for our Winter 2019 issue. We will reserve room in this issue for several papers related to this semester's forum prompt on adaptation and multi-modality, accessible from the left-hand sidebar on the website: https://scholarsarchive.byu.edu/criterion/.
The deadline for submissions to our Winter 2019 issue is January 15, 2018. Any articles submitted after this date will not be considered for publication in this issue.
