The quint is a peer-reviewed journal published by the University College of the North, P.O. Box 3000, The Pas, Manitoba, Canada. For itsforty second issue the journal is issuing a call for theoretically informed and historically grounded submissions of scholarly interest—as well as creative writing, original art, interviews, and reviews of books.

University of Idaho Graduate English Conference

UC San Diego’s Department of Literature is excited to announce our first annual graduate conference. This year’s theme, “Return, Resistance, Resilience, and Recovery,” embraces the complexities of the prefix “post-” in “post-apocalypse.” We are happy to confirm Dr. Shelley Streeby as our keynote speaker; her work on science fiction, climate change, and activism along with her experience in Literature, Ethnic Studies, and the Critical Gender Studies Program will especially enrich our interdisciplinary discussion!

 The Elizabeth Bowen Society is delighted to announce its second international conference. Recent years have seen a growing and sustained interest in Bowen’s work, which can be read through a wide variety of literary approaches.  No longer thought of as a writer on the margins of Bloomsbury, Bowen rightly occupies a central place in our understanding of both the twentieth century and twentieth-century literature.  

The William Carlos Williams Society is sponsoring two panels at the ALA convention in Boston on 23-26 May. This call invites teachers and scholars to share their experience of teaching William Carlos Williams and his work in the classroom. The panel will be a round-table discussion featuring 5-6 speakers each of whom would present a short paper (8-10 minutes) as a springboard for a general interactive discussion. The aim is that this panel will form the basis for a subsequent publication on this topic.

Please submit an abstract of 250-300 words and a short bio.

This collection seeks to bring together some of the most recent international scholarship and developments in the interdisciplinary fields of digital and public humanities. Alongside a critical exploration of the production, distribution and scholarship of culture in relation to digital media and technologies, the collection will examine the possibilities and challenges of publicly engaged scholarship in the digital humanities and beyond. Working with a broad definition of ‘public humanities’, we wish to interrogate the multifaceted interface of arts and humanities scholarship and engagement with wider ‘publics’ beyond academia, from literary and cultural heritage to creative arts and performance.
