Lauryn Hill’s 1998 debut solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill turned 20 years young in 2018. Hill’s provocative dissertation, as it is often referred to it as, has served as blueprint for two decades of emcees, as well as, a pedagogical guidebook for teacher-student dialogue. Hill’s work discusses much about the present and past American/Global landscape and opens the door for this year’s first summit dialogue.

This conference seeks essays/papers, panels, performances, or poster board presentation that relate to any aspect the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill as an album, or as a springboard for a larger discussion of societal issues. Subjects may include, but are not limited to: literature, demographics, history, politics, economics, education, health care, fine arts, religion, social sciences, business and many other subjects

Each presenter will have 15-20 minutes for paper presentations or 45-minutes for round-table discussions and workshops on targeted issues or topics.
