Call for Submissions: Journal of Veterans Studies
The Journal of Veterans Studies (ISSN 2470-4768) is an open-access, peer-reviewed, international journal, aiming to sustain research in veterans studies, facilitate interdisciplinary research collaborations, and narrow gaps between cultures, institutions, experiences, knowledge, and understanding.
We understand veterans studies as a multi-faceted, scholarly investigation of military veterans and their families. Topics within that investigation could include, but are not limited to, combat exposure, reintegration challenges, and the complex systems that shape the veteran experience. Veterans studies, by its very nature, may analyze experiences closely tied to military studies, but the emphasis of veterans studies is the “veteran experience,” i.e., what happens after the service member departs the armed forces. The journal is open to multimodal submissions in a variety of formats and is registered with the Council of Editors of Learned Journals.
The Journal of Veterans Studies is proud to be affiliated with Virginia Tech Publishing. Our acceptance rate is 18%. Articles are published as soon as they have gone through review and editorial processes. We welcome electronic submissions including scholarly articles, program profiles for veteran service organizations (VSOs), interviews with leading organizations/figures engaged in veterans studies, narratives for our veterans’ voices section, and book and new media reviews.
Please review author and submission guidelines (which ensure double blind peer review) before completing the online submission process. Guidelines are available at the following website: https://journal-veterans-studies.org/
