The 2020 WVTESOL Conference Committee welcomes and encourages you to submit a proposal to our 23rd Annual Conference to be held in Fairmont, WV, on March 21st with pre-conference activities on March 20th. Proposals for papers, panel discussions, workshops, resource sharing, posters/exhibits and teaching ideas are expected to address the conference theme: Culture and Identity in the English Language Classroom.

The African American Literature and Culture Society invites abstracts (of no more than 250 words) for presentations at the annual conference of the American Literature Association (http://americanliteratureassociation.org/). We will also consider a limited number of panel proposals (of no more than 500 words).
Travel Literature and Transatlantic Encounters: “The Iberian Peninsula as seen from North America (1850-1950)"
University of Alicante (Spain), June 4-5, 2020.
This conference is part of the research project "Exotic Spain: American Travel Literature about Spain (1900-1950)" (ATLAS) funded by the Research and Knowledge Transfer Office of Alicante University (GRE18-14 A). The project focuses on the study of a corpus of American authors who traveled to Spain in the first half of the twentieth century, especially on those texts that look beyond the vision of Spain related to the experience of the Spanish Civil War.
The relationship between the sciences and the humanities is one that is currently marked by tension. Often viewed as distinct in their approaches to collecting and creating data, the two fields rarely come together to combine methodologies and form what could be a powerful symbiosis of qualitative and quantitative research. For our 18th annual conference, the English Graduate Student Organization is especially interested in exploring the past, present, and future relationships between STEM and the humanities.
