Unedited / Under-edited Renaissance Texts

Renaissance English Text Society Panel

SCSC, Baltimore, October 29 – November 1, 2020

            Abstracts are invited for the Renaissance English Text Society panel at the Sixteenth Century Society and Conference in Baltimore, 29 October - 1 November 2020. Twenty-minute papers should focus on some aspect of unedited or under-edited texts derived from manuscript and/or print witnesses written in English during the sixteenth century or first half of the seventeenth. Papers may address:

• Textual cruxes
• The relationship between witnesses
• Editorial problems in previous editions (textual or contextual)
• Unrecognized literary and/or historical significance
• Dating
• Authorship
• Historical context
• Any combination of these or related issues

Abstracts of 250 words or fewer are welcome from authors who are not yet contracted to edit the text(s) in question. Please send the abstract and a current cv to panel organizer Jason Powell (jpowell@sju.edu) by April 24, 2020.
