Working-class literature of the Finnish diaspora

The Journal of Finnish Studies is now inviting manuscript submissions for a special issue on working-class literature. While we are specifically inviting revisions of the papers presented in the literature panels during FinnFest USA 2019 in Detroit, Michigan, this call is open to any work that focuses on academic research on Finnish-American working-class literature, or working-class literature of the Finnish diaspora anywhere in the world (including, but not limited to, Sweden and Australia). The submissions are due to jofinnishstudies@gmail.com by January 31, 2021.

The Journal of Finnish Studies is a peer-reviewed research journal, ranked as JUFO-2  in Finland.

Happiness and Culture CFP: Two Important Changes

Please note two important changes since our last announcement: 

1. Paper proposals are now due January 6, 2021. Most other dates have been adjusted accordingly. (The new dates are given at the end of the CFP.)

2. The conference will have a virtual component. 

During these COVID times, it is difficult to commit to travel plans months in advance. We hope that the possibility of a virtual participation may facilitate your decision to submit a proposal.

This panel will examine literary, cultural, and legal texts to investigate the space and the concept of home seen queerly. It will focus primarily on an Anglo-American context, though papers from the broader Anglophone world will be considered.
