This roundtable session will discuss practical strategies for implementing techniques of mindfulness in the writing and literature classroom, considering the advantages and disadvantages of such techniques. Participants are especially welcome to discuss how mindfulness techniques can be utilized in online spaces, especially for in-person classes that have suddenly become remotely taught online as of the Spring 2020 semester.

With Health Humanities on the rise and medical memoirs flooding bookshelves, it's easy to forget that the alliances forged between literary representation and medical discourse are new and fragile. Writers from a multitude of traditions have long squared off against doctors for the right to understand illness and capture the essence of the diseased subject. Their motivations have spanned from the starkly political to the intensely personal.

This panel seeks to explore the formal approaches and theoretical implications of these Anti-Medical Humanities. What drives these writers to resist the assimilation of the literary into the medical, and vice versa?

Our journal, HyperCultura, Electronic ISSN 2559-2025, indexed CEEOL, DOAJ, MLA DIRECTORY OF PERIODICALS, ULRICHSWEB, ERIH PLUS, EBSCOHOST (on the process of signing the agreement), invites articles as follows: we encourage, though not imposing, a comparative approach on the following areas - literature (print and hypertext)- (not classic literature), media studies, film studies, visual and performative arts, teaching (language, literature, rhetoric). Subjects such as Postcolonialism-Decolonization, Gender Studies, etc, are welcome if they have the above mentioned areas as their case studies.

African and Asian Women’s Voices in Spanish. Borders within the Global HispanophoneUnder the rubric of the “Global Hispanophone,” scholars have recently turned to a transnational and decolonial approach to the cultural production in Spanish that includes former African and Asian possessions of Spain such as Equatorial Guinea, Morocco, Western Sahara and The Philippines. Within these long-neglected cultural productions there is a heterogeneous literary corpus produced by women who subvert oppressive patriarchal traditions, repression and multiple forms of violence.
