Romancing the Gothic is online education project which offers free classes on the Gothic, horror, folklore, queer literature, romance and hidden and dark histories. We are an interdiscplinary project with scholars taking part from many different fields (including art history, philosophy, literature, micro-biology, history and more) and from all over the world. We have a regular audience as well as open sign-ups. To find out more about the project - see the website -

We are looking to put together our schedule for the second half of 2021 (July to December) for Saturday Classes/Talks, Sunday Talks and Monthly Writing and Creative workshops. We are looking for scholars willing to submit on a variety of topics including: Horror and Gothic film and literature, Paranormal Romance, Gothic and Horror related children's and YA literature, National Traditions of Supernatural Literature, Folklore, Supernatural beliefs and practices, Death studies, Decolonial approaches, Queer Gothic and Horror.

This is an opportunity to engage with an international audience and interact with a growing network of scholars from all areas of academic life. It is also a good opportunity for both experienced and inexperienced presenters and speakers as full support is offered prior to the talk being given. We are open to submissions from postgrads and ECRs and have hosted many talks by senior scholars.
