University of Minnesota Duluth's Honors Program is currently seeking academic and creative submissions for the 2021 issue of Aisthesis, our undergraduate honors journal. As an interdisciplinary publication, we welcome academic work, including honors capstone projects, literature reviews, and research articles, from students in Honors programs in all fields of research. Creative submissions of nonfiction, fiction, poetry, and visual art (including but not limited to painting, sculpture, short film, multimedia, and photography) are also encouraged. Scholars in Progress is seeking speakers for our next session on March 9, 2021!

Our session will focus on how to make the most of a virtual conference, timed specifically to help graduate students get the most out of the NCSA virtual conference March 11-13.  We are hoping to structure the session around lightning talks where each speaker will present for 5-10 minutes before taking questions from participants.

Essays are invited for a forthcoming special issue of the Journal of World Literature on the theme of World Literature in and for Pandemic Times. Essays can discuss works that are set in plagues or epidemics (whether Covid-19 or earlier epidemics, real or fictional), or can discuss how we ourselves read under our current circumstances of lockdowns, widespread mortality, and the resulting social and economic disruptions.
