PAMLA Call For Papers - Literature and Religion Panel
Dear Colleagues,I am writing to announce a Call for Papers in conjunction with this year’s PAMLA Conference. I am honored to serve as Presiding Officer and Chair of the Literature and Religion Panel for our Fall Conference which is set to take place in Las Vegas November 11-14, 2021, with remote presentation options available for attendees and presenters. PAMLA (Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association) is a unique community of scholars and it is always a pleasure to participate in a Conference that celebrates a diversity of ideas for the enrichment of interdisciplinary studies rooted in literature. This panel welcomes papers on a wide variety of religious and spiritual topics in connection to literature. Given the special conference theme of "City of God, City of Destruction," papers that attempt to engage with this theme in relation to religious topics are particularly welcome. From biblical narratives focused on love, the environment and Empire to depictions of Creation and immortality from religious and literary standpoints, there is much to consider. Panelists are encouraged to embrace the possibilities offered within this broad, ever-inclusive category. Abstracts can be submitted online through the PAMLA website. The deadline for submission is April 15, 2021. I hope that you will consider submitting your work and that you will encourage your colleagues and fellow scholars to do the same. Hope to see you all this Fall. Thank You!
