Call for Presentations
In 2021 the LCC is holding a hybrid event, with one day of virtual presentations on September 29th and a second day of in-person celebrations, on September 30th.
Each year, our interdisciplinary conference provides a creative space to enhance the understanding of Latina/o/x issues, contributions, and cultures. We pride ourselves in serving as a link between academia and local communities, institutions and organizations
This year’s theme focuses on celebrating Afro-Latinx and Caribbean identities, bringing forth the potential of diversity and intersectionalities present in our community, which we often see being neglected. As such, we invite proposals that address these themes, in addition to other themes related to Latinx communities and identities.
We invite students, faculty, professionals, practitioners, artists, and community members to submit proposals. We welcome individual or collective papers, panels, posters, workshops, creative work, and alternative modalities presentations.
Presentations may be in the form of papers, posters, workshops, or panels related, but not limited, to one or more of the following general themes related to Latinx identities:
Presentations may belong in one or more of the following tracks:
1) Immigration and Social Justice
3) Representations in literature, arts, popular culture
4) Social Sciences
5) Social Services
