11 AM EST Plenary session “Preparing Students for Writing, Through Preparing Writing for Students: Ideological and Pedagogical Practices to Promote a Cultural Ecological Perspective,” Dr. Y’Shanda Rivera, School of Education and Social Policy, Northwestern University, Evanston, IL
Panel proposals and paper abstracts are invited on best practices in teaching with a focus on digital literacies, access, and equity. Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to submit papers. Abstracts are limited to a maximum of 250 words. Brief bios of 175 words are required. Electronic submissions are requested. Presentations should be limited to 15 minutes. Panels are limited to four (4) presenters per panel. Papers and panels are solicited on:
- Tensions between access and safety in the age of COVID-19
- The role of language arts in social justice
- Hybrid teaching, technology, and faculty workload
- Models for international collaborations between either students or faculty
- New ways to enhance STEM student literacies
- All aspects of studying and teaching literature (including World Literature and travel literature)
- Creative writing/ Creative writing pedagogy
- Composition pedagogy
- Teaching foreign languages

Receipt deadline: September 14, 2021
The registration fee for the conference is $25 for faculty members. The registration deadline is October 5, 2021. Online registration is required for all presenters. (The fee is waived for undergraduate and graduate students. International participants may apply for up to five free tickets per institution.)
